De buurttafel aan de Borgwal in De Hoogte staat er deze zomer weer. De buurttafel kwam vorig jaar zelfs landelijk in het nieuws toen die verwijderd werd door de politie.
De tafel nam een parkeerplaats in beslag en zou voor overlast zorgen. Later werd de tafel toch gedoogd.
Dit jaar zijn er afspraken gemaakt met de wijkagent, waardoor de buurttafel opnieuw gedoogd wordt. Er is afgesproken dat er geen rommel of overlast veroorzaakt wordt.
De initiatiefnemer is buurtbewoner Henk Reker. Volgens Reker heeft de buurtafel een belangrijke sociale functie in de wijk, omdat iedereen kan aanschuiven voor een praatje of hulp bij een klusje.
